Hi.

Welcome! I’m Suzanne, the author and photographer of this blog. I hope what you find here informs and inspires you, and brings beauty and calm to your day.

Have a wonderful weekend

Have a wonderful weekend

THREE MORE SLEEPS UNTIL S IS BACK FROM AUSTRALIA!

Until then I keep busy decluttering and rearranging rooms. I'm enjoying the process, too. What a great opportunity to take a look at what you want to keep or not keep, and arrange rooms to support your current day-to-day living.

It's like Marie Kondo says: "Tidying is a dialogue with oneself." Removing things from our homes makes us question our passions and values. What's truly important to me? What do I believe in? For example, "This dull knife has to go because I love to cook and I value safety."

Another upside to lightening our load is that owning less feels far more beneficial than organizing more. At least for me. If you're someone who loves to have lots of things and be constantly organizing and tidying, carry on! Nothing wrong with being a curator of beautiful things. Just be sure it's something that turns your crank (love that expression) or as Kondo says, sparks your joy.

Speaking of decluttering and downsizing; I'm meeting a friend at her new 7th floor apartment tomorrow, and bringing her this housewarming gift:

Be well and have a wonderful weekend.
